School of Theatre BFA Design Tech Open House

The BFA Design Tech Open House allows prospective students to experience all the Theatre Design and Technology paths that Kent State has to offer. Prospective students attending this event will also receive complimentary tickets to our current production, "Rent," at 7:30 PM.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design, Technology, and Production is designed for the student who desires a focused education in preparation for a professional career in design and production.  Admission to the program is achieved by successful completion of an interview. If you would like to bring a portfolio of your work, it should speak to who you are as an artist. It can include, up to 10 to 15 examples of your work. These could include designs, drawings, drafting, photographs of productions, artistic photography, sketches, paperwork for shows, craftwork, models, cosplay pieces, prompt books, or anything you believe showcases who you are as an artist. A portfolio is not required to interview. We are more interested in hearing about who you are as an artist.

Schedule:
1 PM - Q & A with faculty and staff (Meet in Stump Theatre, Kent Center of the Performing Arts)
1:45 PM - Tour of the School of Theater and Dance
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM - Interviews and Q & A with current students
3:30 PM - Released for dinner (not included)
7:30 PM - Watching our production "Rent"
